Elijah Blake has not taken his foot off the gas for his 2018 project, Bijoux 23. The singer-songwriter has released a visual for “To Be Loved.”
In what he calls his “best video to date,” a cloned Blake is seen in three different looks in a vintage-style apartment. The copies of himself are not having banter with one another. They are very much in isolation, experiencing a moment of vulnerability with themselves.
“To Be Loved” is the first visual to land online from the Bijoux 23 era. He premiered a video for a new song titled “Dopamine” earlier this summer. The standalone track is likely to appear on his forthcoming album, which does not have a release date. Blake noted recently that he’s having a hard time “wrapping up the process.”
“I’m tryna make this album perfect for y’all,” he wrote on Instagram. “I know.. I know I don’t have a hundred million fans at my beck ‘n’ call but the support system I do have… y’all are as loyal as they come & I never want to give you anything less than my best. If I don’t post as much; don’t think I’m being all pretentious & elusive. I’m cookin‼️ So be patient with me.”
Earlier this year, Blake teamed up with Jordan Sparks to form a duo called 199∞. Under their alias, the two put out 1990 Forever, a four-track EP.
