Fantasia catches the power of the “Holy Ghost” on her new track.
On the motivational tune, the North Carolina native shares how she has been able to persevere through the obstacles she has faced in her life.
“I don’t ever gotta fight my own match / Tell him what I need and he gon’ go to war for me / I know that he got something in store for me / See, let me tell you about the holy ghost / I got the power of the holy ghost / That’s what you’re feeling if you didn’t know,” sings Fantasia.
“Holy Ghost” is the latest offering from Fantasia’s upcoming seventh album, Sketchbook, which is out on October 11 via Rock Soul/BMG. The song follows previously released tracks “PTSD” featuring T-Pain and “Enough.”
Sketchbook is described as a compilation of stories that reflect who Fantasia is today. “I’ve shared so much with the world but I feel that there is more still in this journey. I’m still growing,” Fantasia said about the inspiration behind Sketchbook.
She continued, “In the sketchbook we’re still coloring out and painting it out the way I want to be seen, not allowing anybody else to take control of that journey. This sketchbook, what I’m showing through my music, no matter where I go, I want people to see that the painting is still being filled in and there’s many colors and many things to Fantasia that they still don’t know — especially music.”
On October 17, Fantasia will hit the road for her Sketchbook Tour with special guests Tank, Robin Thicke and The Bonfyre.
