If you need a moment to refresh after an exhausting week, Jhené Aiko has a comforting new track to replenish your spirits.

The composition is titled “Trigger Protection Mantra” and it is “for relaxation purposes,” according to the R&B enchantress.

Her voice here is both mesmerizing and crystal clear as she offers soothing lyrics to assist with cleansing your mind, body, and soul. While the production is lulling and minimal, it’s just as pleasing as her drifting cadences.

“Triggered Protection Mantra” is the second solo record this year. She dropped “Triggered (Freestyle)” back in May. Her untitled third album is on its way, and it’s expected to be “all freestyles” that “touch on many subjects and relationships… past, present and future.”

“When I’m going through something, it actually flows out easier for me,” said Aiko to Revolt TV about her follow-up to 2017’s Trip in August. “Doing ‘Triggered’ and several other songs… [gives me] that same feeling that I have to release [it]. It just flows out and I try not to overthink it until I want to [put] ad-libs in or background [vocals].”

Beyond her solo material, Aiko has been cranking out collaborations with Saweetie (“My Type (Remix)”), Bubby Lewis (“Miss & Love”), and her ex-boyfriend Big Sean (“Single Again”).

Aiko and Kehlani have also teased a possible joint project.
