When one door closes, another one opens.
After the unexpected cancellation of Fox’s musical drama Star, Luke James has snatched a recurring role on the third season of Showtime’s The Chi.
Deadline reports James will step on set to portray Victor “Trig” Taylor, the eldest brother of Jake (played by Michael V. Epps). His character will take an unconventional approach to get his broken family back on one accord.
James, who appeared in Universal Pictures’ Little earlier this year, isn’t the only new addition to The Chi. La La Anthony and Lil Rel Howery have also been tapped as recurring guests for the hit show that Jacob Latimore stars on.
Last month, James released a new song titled “Amor, My Love.” It was his first solo track since 2018’s “These Arms.” Both tracks are slated to appear on his much-anticipated sophomore album JOY.
Over the last year, James has collaborated with several artists, including Ro James (“Magic“), Estelle (“So Easy”), and Snoh Aalegra (“Out of Your Way (Remix)“).
