Luke James takes viewers in a time chamber to the ’90s in his video for “Go Girl” featuring BJ the Chicago Kid and Ro James.
Shot in Riverside Park in Harlem, New York, the trio vibe out with their posse to the undoubtedly smooth jam. The Ray “Neutron” Spears-directed video is most certainly comparable to the beloved era.
James shared with The Fader that the video “pays homage to the ’90s feels. The song was inspired by that kinda love- black love to be specific. Stylistically, the video was inspired by the ’90s hip-hop era.”
The fellas performed their song at the 2019 Soul Train Awards, coordinating exactly like the video.
“Go Girl” is the first single from James’ upcoming album, To Feel Love/d, which is slated to arrive in 2020 via Culture Collective/Howling Nights.
To Feel Love/d will follow James’ self-titled album, which relesed in 2014 via Island Records.
