Serene singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko has dropped a candid new song “Happiness Over Everything” ahead of her upcoming album Chilombo.
The track features Grammy Award-winning artists Miguel and Future, and it delves into themes of polyamory and the massive amount of trust, understanding that comes with that lifestyle.
“I hope she don’t think that I think that she some kinda ho (Some kinda hoe) / I don’t care, that just lets me know that she knows what she wants, yeah,” Miguel croons on the song’s chorus.
The accompanying video, directed by Topshelf Junior, features all three artists vibing out at a summertime party, enjoying their time and embracing the song’s lyrics.
“An ode to sailing souls,” the California native tweeted shortly after the song’s release. The track interpolates Aiko’s 2011 song “Hoe” featuring Miguel and Gucci Mane from her Sailing Souls mixtape.
