It’s Jhené Aiko season. The singer-songwriter has announced her highly-anticipated third album Chilombo will arrive on March 6 via Def Jam.
The 20-track album will include previously released songs “Triggered (Freestyle),” “None of Your Concern” and “P*ssy Fairy (OTW).” It will also feature collaborations with John Legend, H.E.R., Miguel, Ty Dolla $ign, Big Sean, Future and more.
The album was titled after Aiko’s last name, which means “wild beast.” Aiko describes Chilombo as a “time lapse of an unassuming volcano erupting gracefully with it’s lava flowing freely…settling and creating new land and new life.”
While her 2017 album Trip was about grieving, Chilombo will find Aiko showing “her strength and power, and coming into her confidence as a woman, a lover, a creator and a healer.”
Aiko will support Chilombo on her Magic Hour Tour with special guests Queen Naija and Ann Marie. The tour will kick off on May 1 in Boston and will hit major cities across North America including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Las Vegas and Toronto.
