Rising R&B star Jvck James is back with new tunes, taking fans on a journey “Overseas” on this electro-soul jam.
Produced by Scribz Riley, “Overseas” presents a soulful overture about James’ attempt to love his partner from a distance.
“I gotta love her but she overseas / posted on the other side but she make it work for me,” James croons on the track.
The swooning tune can be seen as an ode to the challenges of social distancing endured during the COVID-19 pandemic, as James explains the meaning of the song.
“’Overseas’ was inspired by a long-distance relationship,” James explains. “Last year I spent a lot of time traveling, touring, and visiting cities around the world. During those times you get to meet so new many people and form new relationships, some that are still going strong today.”
He continues, “I thought that now was the perfect time to drop this song, especially during the lockdown and the struggles everyone is having to go through. I know everyone can definitely relate to not being able to physically hold onto your loved ones right now, but I guess thanks to technology we can still keep those relationships alive.”
“Overseas” is the latest track from the East London star following his 2019 debut EP Detour.
