As the fourth season of HBO’s Insecure continues to win viewers every Sunday night, so does the series’ music. Ravyn Lenae is the latest act to lend her voice to the growing soundtrack of Insecure with “Rewind.”
Produced by Monte Booker and Phoelix, the blooming singer breathes life into a song about experiencing instant relay with her man in the bedroom.
“No delay or desire / Ooh boy, you’re playing with fire / No delay or desire/ Ooh boy, you’re playing with fire / Rewind it back, run that shit back,” she sings.
Lenae’s gentle vocal accents mesh well in the disoriented array of background sounds.
Besides Lenae, the must-watch show and its soundtrack already have grooves from Cautious Clay, Jideenna and Pos Leos, to name a few.
Lenae has been keeping a low profile since her 2018 Crush EP. Let’s hope her contribution to the Insecure compilation will inspire to release her own music.
