Grammy-nominated diva Tamar Braxton is bringing her talents back to the small screen as the host of a brand-new VH1 show To Catch A Beautician.
The Maryland native is teaming up with celebrity stylist Johnny Wright to help victims of damaged hair confront their beauticians. The stylists will then go through a hair boot camp and later get a second chance to fulfill their client’s wishes.
“I’ve been so excited about this. This is like a dream come true to be able to host a show that’s so much fun with an amazing production company (Scout Productions) and amazing network like VH1,” Braxton told Variety.
She continued, “To meet so many amazing people and to be able to inspire and be inspired at the same time, It’s such a feel-good show. … You crack up, but you feel good about yourself after watching it. I’m just really, really grateful to be a part of that.”
Braxton recalls meeting Wright while he was serving as former First Lady Michelle Obama’s stylist at the White House. “It just worked. And it was just so educational and entertaining at the same time,” she continues about how the show came together.
Braxton is no stranger to reality television as she previously starred with her sisters on their WE TV show Braxton Family Values and the spin-off featuring ex-husband Vince Herbert Tamar and Vince.
The singer-songwriter also competed on season 21 of Dancing with the Stars and won Celebrity Big Brother in 2019.
To Catch A Beautician premieres on May 25 on VH1.
