Acclaimed musician Anderson .Paak joins the fight against racial injustice with his new song “Lockdown,” along with the accompanying video.
Directed by Dave Meyers, the visual sees .Paak discussing the public reaction to the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless others among the ongoing pandemic. Watch it above.
The California native is joined by a plethora of talents for this conversation, including Syd, SiR, and rapper Jay Rock. .Paak is seen holding his son Soul Rasheed as he watches the news with tears in his eyes during the closing scene.
“I can’t thank y’all enough. To everybody who shared the video, listened to the song and or had any parts of putting this together. Endless thank yous,” .Paak wrote on Instagram following the video’s release. “I’m overwhelmed by the love this piece has received. We Ain’t gotta stop cause they tell us to. People keep rising. #LockDown song and vid out now.”
The Grammy-winning artist released his critically-acclaimed fourth studio album, Ventura, back in 2019.
