Shantel May is taking control of the narrative on her latest single “Until I Say So” featuring Westside Gunn.
The nostalgic track — produced by dvsn’s Nineteen85, Allen Ritter and Neenyo — features a famous sample of Eddie Kendricks’ 1973 hit “Where Do You Go (Baby).”
May teases fans with a taste of her smooth vocals, as she orders her lover that their relationship isn’t over until she says so.
“I know I told you to leave me alone / And I know this time that I blocked your phone / Now I told you, “Don’t come back home” / But we’re not done until I say so,” she belts on the song.
“Until I Say So” follows the release of “It’s Better This Way” from this spring and “Back N Forth” back in 2018. No word if any of these tracks are tied to an upcoming project.
In April, the Toronto-born singer drew more attention to herself when she appeared on “…Again” from dvsn’s latest album A Muse In Her Feelings.
