Just days before the 2020 BET Awards, the network has announced Beyoncé will be honored with the prestigious Humanitarian Award.
The iconic entertainer will receive the 2020 Humanitarian Award for her work with her BeyGOOD Foundation, as well as the recently-launched Black Parade initiative which aims to support Black-owned businesses.
The 24-time Grammy-winner released the cultural anthem “Black Parade” to accompany the project on this year’s Juneteenth.
In addition to the incredible honor, the “Formation” singer is nominated for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, BET’s Her Award for “Brown Skin Girl,” and Album of the Year for Homecoming: The Live Album at this year’s awards. See the full list of nominations here.
Past recipients of the distinguished Humanitarian Award include Quincy Jones, Alicia Keys, John Legend, and the late Nipsey Hussle.
Also added to the all-star line-up are a memorial honoring the late Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Little Richard by Wayne Brady and a tribute to the late sports icon Kobe Bryant by Lil Wayne.
The award show will include star-studded performances by Legend, Chloe x Halle, Jennifer Hudson, SiR, Summer Walker, Usher, and more.
The 20th annual BET Awards will air on BET and CBS on Sunday, June 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
