The number one spot on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart this week belongs to Kem and his latest single “Lie To Me.”
The Derek “DOA” Allen co-produced song has become the soul man’s sixth chart leader on the airplay-focused chart after nine weeks.
Kem’s sweet new tune marks his first number one hit since 2015, when his tender single “Nobody” reigned at the summit.
The Grammy-nominated singer is gearing up for the release of his fifth studio album later this year via Motown Records. It’s the follow-up to Promise to Love, which he released in 2014.
“This album is the most contemporary record that I’ve ever made – very fresh, musically, it’s edgy, and I’m in talks with a legendary R&B diva about a duet, and a legendary gospel diva about a duet,” Kem recently told Essence.
