JoJo is uncorking the “Small Things” in her latest music video, directed by Santiago Salviche.
For the acoustic-based track lifted from her latest album good to know, JoJo, dressed in an oversized white outfit, is filmed in a grim warehouse on a stool. Behind her are four women nesting in propped up white bathtubs. The ladies move from outside the tubs, and put on a dance performance.
The visual also flashes between JoJo making decisions on what emotions she wants to unbottle from four colored cork top glass bottles. One of the bottles includes an on-camera love interest.
In a statement accompanying the visual, JoJo detailed that the reason behind the video delay of “Small Things.”
“I’ve been trying to wait for the right moment to share this video with you. With everything going on in the world and in our own backyard, I didn’t want anyone to misconstrue its release as some kind of indication that I’ve moved on from the revolution at hand, here in America,” JoJo said in a statement. “I want to say it clear as day: Black people made me who I am. Not only my longest-standing friendships, but also the record executives, mentors, teachers, romantic partners, and loyal fans who believed in me and took a chance on me – they have all shaped me. Without their support in every way, and without the artists who inspire me to make music, I would not exist.”
“Small Things” is the fourth track from good to know to receive video treatment. She has dropped visuals for “Comeback,” “Lonely Hearts” and “Man.”
JoJo recently performed a beautiful remake of “Pretty Wings” by Maxwell. Watch it here.
