Charlie Wilson’s voice was made for the urban AC radio airwaves. The legendary singer makes his way back inside the top 10 of the airplay format after making a top 20 leap with “One I Got”
Uncle Charlie’s next bonafide hit, which reimagines a Four Tops classic, is expected to earn the Grammy-nominated star his 13th top 10 entry on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart for the week of July 25.
Wilson debuted “One I Got” in late June, along with its official music video. It follows his seventh R&B chart leader “Forever Valentine.”
Co-written and co-produced by Bruno Mars, the infectious track etched Wilson’s name in the Billboard history books as the first act to have multiple new number one singles in the last three decades: 2020s, 2010s, 2000s.
Wilson is aiming to release his follow-up to 2017’s In It to Win It sometime later this year via P Music Group, Inc/BMG.
