So many of the records from the season four soundtrack of HBO’s insecure have received video treatment. Kirby joins the growing list and has released the official video for the remix to “Velvet” featuring Lucky Daye.
The Atlantis-imagined video for the spellbinding number opens by plunging deep beneath the ocean of a groovy lost city where the two soul stars reside. Dressed in a striped one-shoulder jumpsuit and sporting an afro, Kirby lounges in a chic apartment to thrill viewers with her unique voice.
Daye soon enters the frame, chilling in the trees of his botanical penthouse. He and Kirby’s silhouettes unite throughout the clip, as well as animated figures that resemble the two.
As mentioned prior, the “Velvet (Remix)” appears on the latest Insecure soundtrack. It also features the likes of Raphael Saadiq, Pink Sweat$, Baby Rose, Cautious Clay, PJ, TearMarrr and many more.
In January, Kirby released her debut EP, Sis. The project includes the original version of “Velvet.”
Shining the light on Daye, he issued the deluxe edition of his Painted debut in May. The new version contains six additional songs, including his Babyface-assisted tune “Shoulda.”
