The excitement for Aaron Taylor’s debut album ICARUS is becoming harder to contain. So far, the British singer has sent his fans into a love frenzy with the distorted soul track “Shooting Star” and the melodramatic “Don’t Leave Me Alone” featuring Lalah Hathaway.
Now, Taylor has issued the album’s third outing “Be My Muse.” At first listen, a casual fan might think Bone Thugs-N-Harmony made a surprise reunion.
His harmonious voice on this track has a recontextualized hallmark to it that instantly puts you in the mindset of one the Cleveland-bred group’s classics.
On “Be My Muse,” Taylor implores a particular woman to be his inspiration and whirl his monochromatic gloom into a luminously bright color. “I wanna capture the air you breathe / Turn it to something that we can see / I wanna get deep inside your mind / I know there’s treasure we can find,” he sings.
Taylor packages the new track with a self-directed and edited music video. He dedicated the melanin-popping visual to “all the beautiful superheroes who elevate and inspire me daily.” Watch it above.
