Like each of Pink Sweat$’ previous two extended plays (Volume 1, 2), The Prelude doesn’t disappoint.
Released via his new label home Atlantic Records, the dreamy project is a placeholder for the arrival of his debut album, Pink Planet.
Sweat$ compiles two of his already-released tracks for The Prelude, including the heartfelt “17” and the John Hill and Kenneth Wright-produced song “Not Alright.”
Among the other strong points on the six-track EP is the comfortably romantic “Lows,” as well as the pop-R&B crave “Icy.” The latter is a braggadocious moment where Sweat$ causes a polar front when he steps on the scene. He issued an accompanying music video for the frosty joint. Watch it above.
Even though Sweat$ didn’t deliver his Pink Planet album as mentioned, he promises that it will be his best work to date.
