It’s R&B for the win this New Music Friday. Sebastian Mikael joins the fold of generous releases with his new single “Exit.”
The words paint a vivid portrait of the soulful brother dealing with the painful aftermath of an ended relationship. He treats his emotional wounds with typical vices like smoking weed and meaningless sex. Still, those distractions alone can’t steer him from the murky fog of misery he’s in.
“Exit” emulates the neo-soul movement, yet the second coming of sorts with Mikael’s niche vocals that are majestically hazed and fluid and the production that is retro-styled in real live instruments.
“Exit” follows Mikael’s second EP installment of I C U U C ME, which was released in April 2019. He released the first part in December 2018.
