Loyal. Intense. Dominating. All these characteristics define the innate nature of a Virgo. Keke Palmer, who recently celebrated her 26th birthday, is showing Virgo Tendencies, Pt. 1 on her new project.
Palmer opens the 12-track release with “1-800-Keke,” a phone-sex hotline interlude where she sells fantasy for 10 cents a minute.
The multihyphenate superstar goes right for the trendy appeal of mainstream radio with irresistible cuts like the pop-oriented “Dreamcatcher” and the 24hrs-assisted track “Marvelous.”
In between the hilarious skits and one-woman performances (“Let’s Have a Keke,” “Quarantine Blues”), Palmer revisits the already-shared bops like the anthemic “Snack” and the energy-booster “Thick.”
While the new project doesn’t include the title track of the EP, Palmer didn’t miss an opportunity to share it visually with fans.
Virgo Tendencies, Pt. 1 is sure to see a spike in listens on streaming platforms after Palmer assumes the role as host at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday (August 30) at 8 p.m. ET.
Palmer is the first Black woman to host the award ceremony since 1987, when former MTV VJ Downtown Julie Brown served as a host.
