Emerging sister duo VanJess makes a triumphant return to R&B’s mainstage with their new song and video “Come Over.”
Produced by M-Phazes, “Come Over” is heavy on the good vibes as the Lagos, Nigeria-native pair trade verses about kicking it with their respective partners.
“I hit you on your line / I wanna come over, I wanna come over / No need to waste my time / I wanna come over, I wanna come over, baby,” VanJess harmonizes over a warm disco beat.
“For this video (we) really wanted to capture vintage glamour but still feel like the future and represent who we are,” the duo tells Rated R&B.
They continue, “We were really inspired looking at old photos of our parents in Nigeria and thought about what being at home living the lyrics of this record would look like in their world. We hope this song makes everyone feel good and dance.”
“Come Over” follows a slew of singles including the Ari Lennox-assisted “Cool Off The Rain” Sinead Harrett’s “Stickin’” with Masego. VanJess dropped their debut album Silk Canvas in 2018, which was listed among Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of that year.
