Ari Lennox is becoming the go-to girl for R&B remixes.
Weeks after joining BJ The Chicago Kid for his “Time Today” remix, the Dreamville frontwoman pulls off a revised version of VanJess’ fan-favorite “Cool Off the Rain.”
Like the R&B duo, who dwell on a complex relationship behind closed doors, Lennox conveys frustration over a love interest who is constantly blowing things out of portion.
Lennox just asks for her man to “ride the wave,” as they work their issues.
The original version of “Cool Off the Rain” is an interlude that appears on VanJess’ Keep Cool Records debut, Silk Canvas, which dropped last July.
The album was listed on Rated R&B’s top 25 R&B albums of 2019.
The duo, who appears on Xavier Omar’s new album, has unleashed remixes for other Silk Canvas tracks, including “Through Enough” with MNEK, and “Honeywheat” with Saba.
As for Lennox, she is gearing up for the European leg of her Shea Butter Baby Tour in December. Tickets are available now.
