Yuna is an artist whose talent can’t fade away. On “Invisible,” the seductively sentimental tune, the Malaysian singer-songwriter is profoundly lovelorn when she can’t seem to get the attention of a desired partner.
“Maybe if you listen, the way my heart beats for you / Drown away the noise baby / Focus on my voice I’ll be strong enough to tell you,” she sings on the Leven Kali-produced track. “These girls don’t even know you (yeah) / But why they say they love you / Wish I could hold your hand maybe / Make you understand that my day starts and ends with you, my baby.”
Yuna shared what the song means to her in a statement. “The song is about falling in love with someone, but the other person doesn’t see you,” she said. “It’s about what that feels like to deal with those emotions. Regardless, you keep falling for them and loving them from afar.”
“Invisible” is Yuna’s second track release of 2020. It follows the previously shared “Stay Where You Are.”
As with her last album, Yuna released Rouge in 2019. The fourth studio effort included the singles “Forevermore” and “Blank Marquee.”
On September 26, Yuna will be performing at the Overpass Virtual Festival. Get tickets here.
