On the heels of his forthcoming LP, R&B newcomer Luh Kel has emerged with his latest single and video for the Scott Storch-produced “Real.”
A scorching, heartfelt track, “Real” details Kel’s desire to have intimacy and passion upfront in his relationship over a bouncy, rap-infused beat.
“But I promise that I won’t hurt you / And baby I won’t break your heart / And girl I know you’re hurtin’ too / So baby let me heal your scars / And let me reimburse you / Girl you give somethin’ to talk about, what you will never prove,” he croons on the track.

Kel’s demand for real love is something he believes everyone can relate to. “I think a lot of people can relate to that in-between of being so in love with a person and not knowing if they’re as invested as you as you are in them,” he says.
The St. Louis, Mo. native also details his experience working with Grammy-winning Scott Storch. “Working on ‘Real’ with someone like Scott Storch was pretty unreal. I worked with him while I was in LA and had a lot of fun with it – both recording the song and shooting the video.”
“Real” will appear on Luh Kel’s upcoming album, L.O.V.E., which is set to arrive on October 23. It will include the previously shared “Want You” featuring Queen Naija and “All In You.”
