Mariah Carey has unlocked her vault for her beloved fans — or as she calls her Lambily. The iconic singer/songwriter has released her new album, The Rarities, a compilation of sonic moments captured throughout her flourishing career.
“I found stuff in my vault that I had either started to work on a long time ago and never released, or that I wanted to finish mixing,” Carey said. “There are songs that are previously not had been released. It’s a monumental occasion for my career.”
She added, “I truly feel like this album ties together so many defining eras of my life and my journey as an artist. I hope you enjoy reliving the splendor with me.”
The Rarities is comprised of two parts. The first half features 15 songs, including her recently shared “Save The Day” featuring Ms. Lauryn Hill and “Out Here On My Own.” It also includes her highly-demanded track “Slipping Away.” The second half of the album will feature songs performed live at Toyko Dome in 1996 when she was on her Daydream World Tour.
The Rarities arrives just days after the release of Carey’s first-ever memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.
