Mr. Dalvin of legendary R&B group Jodeci is taking another serious step on the solo scene. The R&B veteran has released “Goodtimez,” his first new single since 2017’s “Vindication.”
A bonafide urban adult contemporary radio hit in the making, Mr. Dalvin, with vocal contribution from singer Tali, creates a feel-good number with an oldie but goodie feel. Incorporating an interpolation of formidable disco band Chic’s “Good Times,” the pair say all the right things to get wall huggers and chair warmers to the dancefloor for a night to remember.
“Goodtimez” is a feel-good record I made for all races and lovers of all genres. I know we’re all missing fun with family, friends, and living life!” Mr. Dalvin told HollywoodLife in a recent interview. “Music has the power to unite and bring positivity at a time of uncertainty, negativity and chaos. That is why I felt it very necessary to write GOODTIMEZ! Something with a feel-good vibe and positive energy for everyone.”
Mr. Dalvin is working on a new solo project that will be released on his imprint K.A.M.P. Muzik. It will mark his first solo album in 20 years, as he released Met.A.Mor.Phic in 2000.
In 2015, Mr. Dalvin reunited with Jodeci for their comeback album The Past, The Present, The Future. It spawned the number one single “Every Moment.”
