R&B duo THEY. has an offering for your loved ones with their sophomore album The Amanda Tape.
Drew Love and Dante Jones channel the ins and outs of their own relationships on the new project. The duo weather uncharted territories sonically and lyrically to produce a relatable body of work. The album includes guest appearances from Tinashe (“Play Fight”), Juicy J (“STCU”) and Wale (“Losing Focus”).
In their interview with Rated R&B, they shared the intentional sound they built on with the new LP.
“I think that with this project, we want to kind of challenge the current model of what R&B is,” Jones said. “I feel like right now, there’s a lot of really dope R&B artists but sonically, it can all kind of start to run together a little bit to where it’s kind of a vibe-y trap-y [sound].”
The Amanda Tape is the follow-up to THEY.’s debut LP, Nü Religion: Hyena, which released in 2017.
