Michelle Williams, a multi-platinum selling artist and Grammy winner, has announced a new book. Checking In: How Getting Real about Depression Saved My Life —and Can Save Yours, a book that Williams started in 2019, will hit shelves on May 25, 2021.
In her first book, Williams, who has never shied away from discussing her struggles with depression, will get even more candid about all parts of her life. She shared on Instagram that book lovers can expect the “good, bad, and ugly,” as well as some never-before-told stories for the inquisitive readers.
“Getting real about depression saved my life and I hope it can do the same for you,” Williams wrote on Instagram. “I had to be intentional about checking in with myself, checking in with others and checking in with God.”
Checking In is available now for pre-order on Amazon.
In 2018, Williams released a powerful song titled “Fearless.” It was her first taste of new material since 2014’s Journey to Freedom. The album featured the number one gospel hit “Say Yes” featuring her sister-friends and former Destiny’s Child members Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland.
