Coping with a painful breakup comes with its share of emotional woes. Once you get over it, it feels like you can conquer the world. Emerging artist and former The Voice contestant Fousheé has completed her post-breakup bid and details her road to redemption on the new single “single af.”
On the gratifying track, upheld by a masterful electric guitar and a mellow bass, Fousheé pats herself firmly on the back for rediscovering her happiness following a split. Though she’s ready to see what’s out there, she isn’t going to settle on the first man that catches her eye.
If the relatable lyrical content doesn’t grab your attention, then the New Jersey native’s majestically soul-rooted voice is sure to do the trick.
Fousheé, who was a contestant on season 15 of The Voice, has been making lots of headlines. Rapper Sleepy Hallow sampled her voice from the song “Deep End” for his TikTok viral hit. She also released the single “Relative Motion” and promises a new album soon.
“I want to hold myself accountable for using my platform to uplift,” Fousheé said to The Fader in July about her next music project. “I want to make music that is as honest. I want to represent new perspectives. I want to be a shining example to Black women everywhere and to people who resonate with my story. I plan on reflecting on the times and my truth. I want to create your favorite song.”
