Jazmine Sullivan is making a serious effort to promote her new project, Heaux Tales, which is available now. The Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday to perform “Girl Like Me.”
Backed by a two-man band, Sullivan, wearing a forest green pinstripe pants suit, stunned at-home audiences with her innate vocal delivery and commanding on-stage presence.
Sullivan’s late-night performance comes days after she blew fans away with her NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert. The five-song set included mostly material from Heaux Tales, as well as a hot rendition of “Let It Burn” from 2015’s Reality Show.
The latter LP, which yielded critical acclaim and three 2016 Grammy nominations, was named one of Rated R&B’s 50 Best R&B Albums of the Decade (2010s).
