Chuck Harmony and Claude Kelly — together known as Louis York — have released a live visual for their soothing track, “Velvet.”
Directed by Jeremy Ryan, the intimate clip finds Harmony stationed at a piano while Kelly takes center stage to deliver a rousing performance. They’re both joined by a guitarist (Adam Smith II), bassist (Jay White), and a drummer (Derion Haynes).
“Velvet” is lifted from Louis York’s debut album, American Griots. The LP was among Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2019.
“We were so excited about releasing the American Griots vinyl that we did a live version of one of our favorites, which is ‘Velvet,'” Louis York told Rated R&B via email.
“We hope that people love this live video and go out and get the vinyl because we can’t wait to do it in front of a live audience soon.”
As mentioned above, Louis York recently released a vinyl edition of American Griots. It can be purchased on the official website of their imprint, Weirdo Workshop.
