From “Fight For You” to “I Can’t Breathe,” H.E.R. has been consistent with using her platform to bring awareness to social issues. So, it’s no surprise that the Grammy and Oscar-winning singer/songwriter has released a new song titled “Change.”
Produced by Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, Flippa and Swagg R’Celious, “Change” is an inspiring anthem that encourages the younger generation to get involved with their community. For those who may think they’re not old enough to make a difference, H.E.R. assures them that there is room for everyone to be the change they seek.
“Don’t have to wait for someday just to have change / No, you’re never too young to make a difference / You have the power to be an active citizen,” she sings over handclaps.
“Change” will appear in the upcoming Netflix animated musical series, We The People, which is executive produced by former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
According to Netflix, We The People will teach kids “the basics of rights and citizenship with upbeat songs by popular artists like Janelle Monáe, H.E.R., Adam Lambert, Brandi Carlile and more.” The series will premiere on July 4.

On June 17, H.E.R. will join Billie Eilish and Kid Cudi for Amazon Music’s Prime Day Show. The three-part immersive event will treat viewers to “unique experiences that fuse performance and storytelling, transporting fans to worlds inspired by Paris, The Dunbar Hotel, and outer space.”
As for music, H.E.R. recently teamed up with Chris Brown for her latest proper single “Come Through.” It will appear on her long-awaited debut album, Back of My Mind, which will arrive later this year via MBK Entertainment/RCA Records.
