At one time, it didn’t take much to be a confident woman. But, with the expectation to be perfect at an all-time high, friendly reminders that each woman is a “Shining Star” are necessary. Lil’ Mo lets her glow be a beaming example on her encouraging new single with Fatman Scoop and T-Pain.

Poised as a modern-day throwback hit, the R&B vet uplifts ladies everywhere, listing everything that makes them that girl like their undeniable grind and loyalty. The autotune maestro keeps with this empowerment theme, praising his woman for her above-average qualities. Of course, Fatman Scoop brought the high-energy with his classic pep rally ab-libs that stay in vein with the overall essence of the upbeat track.

With T-Pain now knowing how to stay on top of his DM’s, the Grammy winner has been getting many collaborations done, which Lil’ Mo is grateful for, according to a recent Instagram post. She also revealed in another IG post that her son Justin did some of the background vocals for the new song.

“Shining Star” arrived just months after Mo’s return single, “Broken Heart.” It was her first solo single since 2017’s “Hold Me Down.” Both songs are expected to appear on Lil Mo’s next album SavageHeart, the first project since 2014’s The Scarlet Letter.
