Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have taken the number-one crown on another radio format as Silk Sonic. This time, their ’70s timepiece “Leave The Door Open” holds the top position on urban radio after dominating R&B radio this spring.
Mars’ last trip to the urban radio summit was back in 2019 for his “Please Me” collaboration with Cardi B, while .Paak celebrates his first here.
Aside from urban and R&B radio, Silk Sonic’s debut single from their upcoming project An Evening with Silk Sonic claimed the highest ranking on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Adult R&B Airplay chart. Additionally, the duo reigned atop the last chart for 15 consecutive weeks.
At last month’s BET Awards, Silk Sonic revealed they aren’t in a rush to release another track from their anticipated project. In case you didn’t see (or want to revisit) their show-stopping performance at the annual ceremony, watch it here.
Silk Sonic also won Best Group at the BET Awards, while Mars seized the Video Director of the Year trophy alongside Florent Déchard for “Leave The Door Open.”
