Rising singer Alex Mali has reentered the R&B chat with her latest project, Iconic.
Spanning eight songs and running a bit over 20 minutes, Iconic includes previously released songs “Mind You” and “Heart Strings.”
Iconic contains other great tracks, three of which cannot be ignored.
On “This and That,” Mali changes lanes stylistically from her drill-n-B uniform, making pleasant modifications. She sings about taking what’s due to her as she propels herself to the next level in her career.
Mali matches this fierce energy in “Sorry Not Sorry,” a groove with booming bass. Here, she hypes herself up, unapologetically singing about how she’s that girl. Finally, she rounds the project out with “F**k Your Feelings,” an uptempo vibe that finds her cooing about people’s opinions and the vultures that gather around when you come up.
Iconic is Mali’s latest body of work following her 2020 project, Phenom. Outside of this current project and its singles, she released “In Your Arms” and “Addicted” earlier this year.
Mali is touring the nation with Phony Ppl, performing select dates on their Nowhere But Up Tour.
