Khalid has shifted from album to EP mode, releasing a “Present” as the first single from his first compact project since 2018’s Suncity.
Cruising across a rhythmic R&B beat, laced in guitar strums, the R&B sensation sings about his willingness to be available to his love interest for the night.
In discussing the direction of his impending EP, Scenic Drive, out December 3, Khalid said, “I’ve had the chance to listen to a lot of music and also push myself creatively while I’m recording. My Mom raised me on R&B and whether it’s the harmonies or melodies, it will always be a part of my music.”
Everything Is Changing, Khalid’s third album, is still forthcoming but tabled at the moment. He shared “New Normal” back in July as the first connection to the album. It arrived with a supporting video.
Khalid’s last album, Free Spirit, released in 2019, featured the hit singles “Talk” and “Better,” all of which helped him make RIAA history as the youngest artist to sell over 74.5 million certified units in the United States.
