Things continue to get ‘better’ for Khalid. After being announced as a first-time musical guest on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, the new kid of R&B has landed his first top 10 single as a solo performer on the pop airplay chart.
“Better,” his latest Suncity track, has climbed from No. 11 to No. 9 today after debuting at No. 50 back in October 2018. The chill song has racked up over 8,700 radio spins with a reach of more than 43 million pop listeners. Ahead of “Better” cracking the top 10 on this radio format, Khalid culminated this chart victory on three other occasions. He made his first appearance in the top 10 with Logic and Alessia Cara on “1-800-273-8255” in 2017. “Love Lies,” his duet with Normani, topped the chart last year, while “Eastside” with Benny Blanco and Halsey currently reigns at number one.
Beyond the pop radio circuit, Khalid is running things on Billboard. Earlier this week, it was reported that his latest tracks “Better” and “Talk” secured the top two positions on the Hot R&B Songs chart. This unprecedented move crowned him the third artist besides Drake and The Weeknd to command the No. 1 and No. 2 spots at the same time.
Keep up the good work, Khalid.
