Brandy was the highlight when performing the national anthem at Sunday’s (Jan. 30) NFL playoff game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.
Paying style homage to Whitney Houston’s Super Bowl XXV attire, Brandy floated effortlessly through The Star-Spangled Banner with signature vocal precision and the ingredients to draw a standing ovation.
Brandy’s national anthem rendition caused a flood of support from her peers, including Kelly Rowland, Tamar Braxton and Monica, who said in her Instagram stories, “Incredible Job singing the Anthem.”
Braxton wrote on Twitter, “I see my sister @4everBrandy felt like singing today chile!! She sang Me into my feelings Tonight.” Meanwhile, Rowland chimed in saying, “AMEN BRANDY!!!”

Commenting on her studio time with Songbird Supreme, Brandy said, “For her to be Mariah Carey, she’s just normal, chill, [and] supportive.”
She added, “I’m just glad that she invited me over to just sing with her, and we’ll see what happens. I loved working with her. That was a dream come true.”
She also talked about the 20th anniversary of Full Moon and the direction she expects to take with her future music.
