Mary J. Blige, the undisputed Queen of Hip-Hop-Soul, made a show-stopping appearance during the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show on Sunday night.

The legendary singer joined hip-hop heavyweights Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar, for their 15-minute set presented by Pepsi.

As expected, Blige came dressed to impress, wearing her signature thigh-high boots.

She performed her Dr. Dre-produced classic “Family Affair,” lifted from 2001’s No More Drama, as well as the album’s title track, which was produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

Blige’s performance at Super Bowl LVI comes just two days after releasing her 15th studio album, Good Morning Gorgeous. It’s Blige’s first album under her new partnership with 300 Entertainment.

Good Morning Gorgeous includes features from Usher, Anderson .Paak, DJ Khaled, Fivio Foreign and Dave East.

In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Blige explained why she decided to take the positive route, following her divorce, for her latest LP.

“I’m at a really important place. A place of self-acceptance, self-love, continuing to keep growing in that direction. I wouldn’t never even decided to do this record if I had stayed stuck where I was at. It was too much time, too much self-hatred, too much stuff that needed to change.”

She added, “I had to get through this first to say, “Okay. I’m ready now. I’m ready to speak from a place of positivity and not always come out with a record that says, ‘Oh woe, it’s me.’ But come out with a record that says, ‘You know what? I’m tired of being in a box and having to deal with what everybody else thinks of me. What do I think of me? How do I feel about me? I feel amazing. I’m greeting myself with positive affirmation, good morning gorgeous.'”

The album’s lead single and title track recently peaked at No. 1 on R&B radio, totaling 11.8 million audience impressions.

The uplifting anthem was co-produced by D’Mile and H.E.R., and features additional writing credits from Lucky Daye and Tiara Thomas.

As mentioned above, Good Morning Gorgeous is out now. There is an exclusive Target edition that features Ne-Yo on a bonus track titled “Running.”

According to Blige’s official website, vinyl editions will be available for pre-order soon.
