Back like she never left, Ravyn Lenae returns with the new song “Skin Tight,” featuring Steve Lacy.
Over a polished, guitar-laden production, also crafted by Lacy, Lenae sings about a relationship that is on its way to ending.
“Hope you understand we won’t go as planned / Hold me while you can, hold me while you can / I’ll still be your friend, you come back again / Hold me while you can, hold me while you can,” sang Lenae on the song’s chorus.
Lacy’s vocal stylings add to the overall ambiance of the song, tying everything together.
Coinciding with the release of the song, Lenae released a supporting video. The animated video foregrounds the song in a meaningful and artistic way.
“Skin Tight” marked an end to Lenae’s musical hiatus, marking the first song she released since “Rewind,” which appeared on the season four soundtrack of Insecure.
Lenae released her latest EP, Crush, in 2018.
