Emerging singer Josh Levi has returned with his new single “Vices.”
The new single is no sad love story for Levi, but one with a happy ending. “Vices” is enveloped in stellar harmonies, with a moving guitar riff as its sturdy prop. Levi sings about purging himself of a girl who was once his crutch. It’s been a process for him indeed.
“Proud of myself for not answering your calls / But just know I been tempting / One day I’ll be a thousand days away from missing you / Right now, it’s just two weeks, no speaking,” Levi sings.
Knowing better, Levi has gained so much happiness and emotional clarity that he’s rid himself of such toxicity in his life. “Think it’s best if I just leave you alone,” he sings.
Levi’s “Vices” arrived with an accompanying lyric video.
“Vices” is Levi’s first non-soundtrack offering of the year, following his contribution to Disney’s Pixar Turning Red soundtrack. In the film, he starred as Aaron, one-fifth of the franchise’s first-ever boy band 4*Town.
Levi’s new song is the lead-up to DISC TWO, the long-awaited sequel to his 2020 EP DISC ONE. No release date has been confirmed yet for the follow-up project.
Shortly before his Turning Red role, Levi premiered a performance of his Raedio Records debut “NASA.” He came out with this song and its supporting video last August.
