Rising singer-songwriter Q has released his new single “Luv (I Know I Want This For Real),” along with a dance-themed visualizer.
The funky, infectious groove was produced by Q and captures the woozy feeling of falling in love.
“I think I found it, I can’t seem to stop it / The love is goin’ crazy, I think I need to stop it,” Q sings in the chorus.
Q shared some details about the song in an Instagram Live broadcast. “I made this song in 2019. It’s a pretty old song. I was listening to it one day and was like, ‘You know what? That can fit.'”
“Luv” is Q’s first song release of 2023. It’s the follow-up to his previously shared singles “Today” and “Stereo Driver.” All three tracks will appear on Q’s debut album, Soul, PRESENT, coming this year on Columbia Records.
“I wrote ‘Stereo Driver’ during a time of despair, and I had to lean on a higher power to help me through it. I wanted the lyrics to come off as a dialogue, and help people self-reflect,” Q explained.
Regarding “Today,” Q said, “‘Today’ can be the day you choose not to live in fear, the past, or in your own thoughts.”
Soul, PRESENT will follow Q’s 2021 project, The Shave Experiment (Director’s Cut), an expanded edition of his 2020 EP, The Shave Experiment.
