Teyana Taylor has received another award from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Her 2018 collaboration “Gonna Love Me (Remix)” featuring Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Raekwon is now certified gold with more than 500,000 equivalent units sold.
This recognition marks Taylor’s seventh certification from the RIAA. She earned her first RIAA honor for the original version of this hip-hop-focused remix in April 2019, for which it was certified gold.
The Delfonics-sampled tune was later upped to platinum in January 2021, giving Taylor her first release to exceed sales of over one million equivalent units.
“Gonna Love Me,” lifted from Taylor’s 2018 sophomore album K.T.S.E., was a moderate hit, peaking at No. 26 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
Before this recent certification, Taylor was in the RIAA news last September for “Bare With Me,” which struck gold. It’s her third release from 2020’s The Album to gain an award, following the Kehlani-assisted “Morning” and “How You Want It?” featuring King Combs. The latter two songs are also certified gold.
Speaking of The Album, Taylor’s 2020 LP served as her third proper album. The set, divided into five movements, had guest contributions from Ms. Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Big Sean, Missy Elliott, Future, and more.

Since then, Taylor has walked away from the music industry as an artist; but has stayed active as a music video director. She’s also been gaining traction as an actress, with her most recent role as Inez in A.V. Rockwell’s directorial debut A Thousand And One, going to the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.
The motherhood drama is slated to hit theaters on March 31.
Taylor also signed on a few other films, including The Smack, an indie thriller based on a novel of the same name, and White Men Can’t Jump, a remake of the 1992 basketball comedy.
On April 30, Taylor will perform at the Sol Blume festival in Sacramento, California, as a special guest.
