Singer and Real Housewives of Potomac star Candiace teams up with singer/actress and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Drew Sidora for “Affirmations, Pt. II,” a new empowering anthem.
“Affirmations, Pt. II” is about as honest and wise as any song can get these days, finding both Candiace’s and Sidora’s voices comforting and pacific.
With both having their lives, on their respective shows, under a microscope for the world to pick apart, lyrics like “forget about what they say, I’m gonna be right here / I’m gonna love me all the way” hit home.
“Affirmations, Pt. II” was released on the same day (May 21) as episode three of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, season 15.
In the episode, streaming now on Peacock, Candiace invited Sidora to join her on-stage during her Deep Space Tour stop in Atlanta, Georgia. Kenya Moore, Kandi Burruss, Marlo Hampton, and Sanya Richards-Ross, all full-time peach holders, were in the audience in support of Sidora.
“Affirmations, Pt. II” is a sequel to Candiace’s song “Affirmations,” which is lifted from Deep Space (Deluxe) and its standard edition. The former LP includes songs “Benefits, Pt. II” with Q. Parker and the Trina-assisted “Insecure.”
Candiace continues to promote her debut album on the road. On June 10, she will play at The Fillmore Silver Spring in Silver Spring, Maryland. Durand Bernarr, whose album Wanderlust is available now, will support as a special guest.
Additional headlining dates throughout the year will keep Candiace busy. Tickets and more information are available here.
Sidora, in her third season of RHOA, is getting serious about pursuing a music career. In September 2022, she independently dropped a song titled “Already Knew.” It was co-written in collaboration with her estranged husband, Ralph Pittman.
In 2021, Sidora co-starred in Lifetime’s Line Sisters. The original thriller featured LeToya Luckett, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, and Ta’Rhonda Jones.
“We had such great chemistry, and I couldn’t believe how quickly it happened. You don’t find that on set all the time. But I think we found our niche and kept going with it. We still are cool [and] still close, and I’m glad that it was able to translate on-screen as well,” Luckett told Rated R&B in 2021.
