The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the 2023 Daytime Emmy Awards nominees.
The Jennifer Hudson Show is up for six awards at the show’s 50th edition, including Daytime Talk Series, Outstanding Live Sound Mixing and Sound Editing, and Hairstyling and Makeup.
Adam Sharp, the NATAS president and CEO, said, “Today we not only honor this year’s outstanding programs and individuals, we mark a milestone in television history. Our golden anniversary celebrates the talented creators who have made the last 50 years of Daytime Television so unforgettable. Partnering with CBS for another two years, we look forward to a very special 50th Daytime Emmy® Awards this June.”

The Jennifer Hudson Show debuted on Hudson’s 40th birthday (Sept. 12, 2022), with founding American Idol host Simon Cowell as the first guest.
The star-studded show has since had many other guests, including Chaka Khan, Babyface, The Isley Brothers, as well as Vice President Kamala Harris, Marsai Martin and Shemar Moore.
Aside from sit-down conversations, The Jennifer Hudson Show has been a space for artists to perform new and classic music. John Legend, Coco Jones, SWV, PJ Morton, and most recently, Seal, have taken the stage.
In February, The Jennifer Hudson Show celebrated its 100th episode. Before that, she won Outstanding Host in a Talk or News/Information (Series or Special) — Individual or Ensemble at the 54th NAACP Image Awards.
Earlier this year, Hudson received news that the show was picked up for a second season.
The 50th Annual Daytime Emmys will air live on CBS Friday, June 16, and simultaneously stream on Paramount+ at 9 p.m. ET. The next day, trophies for the Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmy® Awards, will be handed out via the NATAS OTT channel at Watch.TheEmmys.TV.
