The second annual Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom will see a new set of performers joining the event, as announced by Live Nation Urban and Jesse Collins Entertainment.

Charlie Wilson and Chlöe are part of the new batch of talent performing at a global celebration, which will be broadcasted on all CNN platforms and nationally on OWN.

Rapper Nelly and instrumentalist Mike Phillips are also set to perform.

Wilson was added to the lineup following his Tiny Desk concert for NPR, which, at the time of this publication, has over a million views on YouTube after one week.

Chlöe’s performance is a tribute to Tina Turner, the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, who passed away on May 24.

The second annual event will feature Vice President Kamala Harris as a speaker. Grammy winner Muni Long will present.

Previous performers include SWV, Jodeci, Miguel, Kirk Franklin, Coi Leray and Davido. Adam Blackstone and Questlove of The Roots will return as musical directors for Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom.

“Last year, we launched Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom, and it was emotional and unforgettable for everyone involved. We’ve teamed up with our partners at CNN and Jesse Collins Entertainment again and this year we are broadcasting live from the historic Los Angeles venue, the Greek Theatre. We are looking forward to educating and celebrating the Juneteenth holiday,” said Shawn Gee, President of Live Nation Urban.

Chris Licht, Chairman and CEO of CNN Worldwide, stated, “We are proud to once again partner with Live Nation Urban to broadcast this powerful Juneteenth event on our platforms. We want to be a destination for people to both understand and celebrate a holiday of this magnitude.”

“We are thrilled to continue to elevate the importance of the Juneteenth holiday,” added Johnita P. Due, EVP of Integrity and Inclusion for CNN Worldwide. “I look forward to the electricity of the 2023 show. It is meticulously crafted as an expression of the excellence and resilience of the Black community and the ongoing pursuit of equality.”

Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom tickets are available for purchase on ticketmaster.com. The event is scheduled for Monday, June 19, at 8 p.m. ET at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Ticket prices start at $39.
