Grammy winner Fantasia has announced that her bourgeoning business, Addies Place, will be releasing a line of swimwear.
The inspiration for this line comes from her grandmother, Apostle Addie Collins, who passed away in 2015.
“Do you remember when swimwear was sexy, yet classy? I want to bring that vibe back with an exclusive Nightgowns, swimwear and Beautiful Candle launch coming soon @addiesplacellc!” Fantasia wrote in a caption for a photo of her floating on an inflatable sunbed, relaxing in a vintage swimsuit.
According to Fantasia, the upcoming line will feature swimwear, as well as nightgowns, and candles.
However, the collection has not yet been featured on an official website, and its prices have not been made available.

Fantasia’s recent announcement comes shortly after appearing in her brother Ricco Barrino’s official music video for “Let’s Dance.”
The video pays tribute to her honorary membership in Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. The two dropped the collaborative track back in May.
Fantasia is currently on a nationwide concert tour, performing songs from her past albums like Side Effects of You, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.
Rated R&B spoke with Harmony Samuels, who produced the bulk of the album, where the reflected on the project a decade later.
“It was a magical moment in that period of time of us working. It was even magical when it came out because I watched someone who, behind closed doors, was met by defeat, met by criticism, met by blame, her trauma,” Samuels told Rated R&B.
“And by the time we got through it, she was glorious. She was righteous. She was victorious. She was blessed. And then she rode off into the night on a white horse. Everything she learned, I watched her perform and was like, ‘She’s leaving it all on the stage.’ I saw other people experience that same freedom and take that home with them.”
Samuels continued, “When I look back, I see redemption. I feel freedom, love like no other, and breaking the f*cking rules. We broke rules. We didn’t do it the cookie-cutter way. We didn’t do it the way everyone thought we should do it. ”
Circling back to now, Fantasia is gearing up to release an R&B and gospel album in the future.
After Fantasia wraps up her tour, she will be gearing up to support her major role in The Color Purple musical film. She reprises her award-winning role as Celie for the production directed by Blitz Bazawule.
Oprah Winfrey, who played Sofia in the 1985 film and has a production credit for the upcoming musical, shared her reaction to Fantasia reprising her role as Celie.
“Her rawness and vulnerability, along with her singing talent, means that Fantasia is going to knock it out of the park,” Winfrey told Oprah Daily. “Celie has to show such a range of emotion, coming from what feels like no strength to really being empowered,”
The Color Purple‘s official trailer, featuring Halle Bailey, H.E.R., and Taraji P. Henson, was released in May and has since gained over 9.1 million views.
The movie will be in theaters on Christmas Day (Dec. 25).
