Janelle Monáe has extended her Age of Pleasure Tour with an additional four dates in North America.
The newly announced shows will include performances in Indianapolis, Columbus, Ohio, and New Orleans.
Additionally, Monáe will play a second night in Washington, D.C. That extra stop and its first night at The Anthem won’t be powered by Live Nation, even though they are producing most of the tour.
The artist presale for The Age of Pleasure Tour is currently underway, with additional presales to be held later this week. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. local time on jmonae.com.
Monáe’s upcoming 30-city tour is set to begin on Aug. 30 in Seattle, Washington. The run will then move on to other major cities nationwide before concluding on Oct. 18 at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California.
The tour extension comes on the heels of Monáe’s latest single, “Lipstick Lover,” reaching No. 2 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It’s also No. 2 at R&B radio this week. Babyface’s “As a Matter of Fact” leads both charts.
“Lipstick Lover” is the second single from Monáe’s most recent album, The Age of Pleasure. The star-studded set arrived June 9 and included guest appearances from Grace Jones, Doechii, Seun Kuti, Egypt 80, actress Nia Long, Ckay and Amaarae.
The Age of Pleasure made its debut on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart at No. 2, selling 19,000 equivalent units in its first week. It marked her third consecutive top five debut on this particular chart.
Since then, Monáe released an official video for “Water Slide.” She co-directed the fun-filled video alongside Alan Ferguson.
