Emerging singer Rosemarie has teamed with producers Ryan Tedder and Tyler Spry to reimagine Faith Evans‘ 1998 classic, “Love Like This.” The cover arrives in an English and Spanish version (“Este Amor”).
Regarding her decision to cover Evans’ “Love Like This,” Rosemarie says, “Faith Evans is an icon. ‘Love Like This’ is such an iconic song, so I was more than elated by the opportunity to record my own rendition! When I heard the production by Ryan Tedder, I was excited to be able to step outside my comfort zone and rise to the challenge. I had so much fun vocal producing and finding ways to add my own essence to the song.”
She continues, “It was also rewarding to reimagine the song in Spanish. Latin music is such a huge part of my culture and identity, and now as I get further in my career, my artistry. I felt honored to work with the talented Jean Rodriguez, who helped bring everything together. I truly enjoyed the experience and hope you enjoy what we made!”
“Love Like This / Este Amor” is the follow-up to Rosemarie’s EP, Rock Paper Scissors, which dropped in March via BirdVisionEnt/Interscope Records. It included production by Camper, Swagg R’celious, Jayme Silverstein and more.
Circling back to “Love Like This,” the original song was the lead single from Evans’ sophomore album, Keep The Faith, which celebrated its 25th anniversary on Oct. 27. The party-ready groove peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 1998.
